Blue Moment

Series:Stay in the Blue Moment
Acrylic (727 x 500)(M20)

I created this painting in conjunction with the concept of my solo exhibition, “Atarayo no Tobira”.
The trilogy depicts the timeline of the dawn of night.
This is the first of the three. The time of night.

The title of this painting “Atarayo” means a night too beautiful to be a shame to leave
It’s an unique Japanese language.

There is no English word for the literal translation.
The English name of the work is ‘Blue Moment’, referring to the luminous blue color that can rarely be seen in the sky as night falls.

Blue Moment is a phenomenon that occurs in the short window of time before dawn and after sunset, when the entire area appears to be illuminated by blue light.
This color of the sky can only be seen on clear days with very few clouds and clear air.

Suddenly, the luminous blue attracts me. They stop me in my tracks and attract my gaze.

When I encounter a blue moment, I am often looking at the darkening sky.
but in fact, this phenomenon can also occur when the darkness is melting away.
