I created this painting in conjunction with the concept of my solo exhibition, “Atarayo no Tobira”.
The trilogy depicts the timeline of the dawn of night.
This is the second of the three.
The time between midnight and twilight.
When I travel, I often spend time under the celestial transference from night to twilight.
Sitting on the beach with the moon’s path shimmering
Watching the moon set
Lying on the grass and watching the stars twinkle
Constellations from the eastern sky to the western horizon.
And so, in the twilight hours before sunrise
The gentle light shows us the clouds moving rapidly.
For starry sky photography
With a setting that lets in a lot of light
Midnight sky was shot by me
Photographed the darkness of the night, which seemed to suck me in, the light purple and stars were reflected in the image.
The time
The awe
The colors
May we listen to the subtlety of the sound that continues to play across time and space
always and everywhere
to be there
That world is still there.
