Biography

Individual consciousness shapes the world

A record of experimentation with serendipity,
with full trust in the inner senses and the things happens outside myself

Yuri Okada  |  岡田 友里

Profile

A painter residing in Nasu Highland, Japan. She creates abstract paintings from the perspective of generating experiences that see things as they are. Her techniques primarily use acrylic paint, along with transparent watercolor and pencil. In her work, she values the sensations received from nature and the local environment. Since 2020, she has based herself near the sea in Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture, and Hayama Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, before moving to Nasu Highland in 2023.

The characteristics of her works lie in their ability to appear as landscapes, phenomena, or something entirely different. They serve as a mirror reflecting the viewer’s heart, with impressions changing based on the viewer’s mood and the moment in time. She hopes to create an experience where viewers can peek into their own inner selves, confronting living beings in her art.
