We are pleased to announce Yuri Okada’s second solo exhibition, “Atarayo no Tobira (Stay in the Blue Moment)”.

“Atarayo” – a night too beautiful to be a shame to leave
“Tobira” – a device that leads people to their inner world

Everyone experiences a dark time in their life.
Such time, however, also forms oneself, and the accumulation of every time leaves beautiful traces.

For this exhibition, Yuri Okada created her artworks and space as if the paintings are “doors,” with the intention that this exhibition would be a time for visitors to travel through their own inner worlds.

To feel and accept all the emotions and sensations that arise in yourself, including those that you may want to categorize as negative.

If every emotion conveys a message to you—

The works in this exhibition are intended to be a “door” to a journey back to oneself, in a space where there are no judgments of right and wrong.

Atarayo no Tobira (Stay in the Blue Moment)

This consciousness that resides in this body
From birth to the last day of life
I’m with myself, never leaving for a moment.

On the journey back to me whatever dark night
My door emerges in the intention and observation.

Beyond my door
With my palette containing even the darkest colors of the night
